This seminar discusses the strengths and weaknesses of transnational and global-historical methodologies.  We distinguish this growing field from the related approaches of world history and comparative history. The seminar also applies the transnational method to analyse the evolving concept of wartime "civilian morale" on a global scale, 1905-1945.
